About Us

Safeguarding WA:

  • is a Perth-based service providing consultationtraining and confidential advice to organisations and businesses across metropolitan and regional WA.

  • supports not for profits, local governments, businesses, schools, sporting clubs, early learning, peak bodies, community groups, and religious organisations.

  • draws on the findings of the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse, the guidance provided by the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations and current best practice from across the sector.

  • focuses on organisational culture so that the safety and wellbeing of children and young people becomes central to all decision making and at all levels of an organisation

  • builds safeguarding systems and practices to ensure organisations can fulfill their legislative, funding and contractual requirements. 

  • applies a continuous improvement approach to its delivery of consultation and training by staying connected to current and developing research and understandings of best practice.

Kylie Wallace is the Director and Principal Consultant and Trainer for Safeguarding WA. Kylie brings a deep commitment to the safety of children and young people together with the knowledge, skills and experience of 29 years in Western Australia’s community services sector. Embedding safeguarding practices within community services and groups has been a core focus of her work for the past 5 years.

Safeguarding WA collaborates with and engages the expertise of other safeguarding and sector specialists from WA and Victoria to ensure due diligence and an accountable service.

Safeguarding WA engages with and seeks the input and oversight of young people as a part of the consultation service and in the development of training content.
